Of course, this is just my opinion, because they are extremely unprofessional, charging exorbitant prices without any transparency or fairness. I plan to apply for an 801 visa, as this is extremely important. A friend recommended several lawyers, and I also researched several highly-rated law firms online. Private lawyers generally charge around 3500 (currency unspecified), with only a few tens of yuan fluctuation. Law firm fees are around 5000 (currency unspecified), though this can vary depending on the complexity of the case, but the most expensive doesn't exceed 5500. I understand that law firms are more expensive due to rent, but I prefer them, feeling they offer more security than private lawyers. New Start Law Firm initially quoted me 3580 (currency unspecified), which was cheaper than other firms, and they had many positive reviews, so I considered signing a contract with them. However, since I wasn't married at that time, I didn't finalize the deal. I was thinking of finalizing things after we got our marriage certificate. But as soon as I did, I called New Start Law Firm again for a second consultation. The second quote was completely different; it was over 5,000 yuan. The previous consultation had been normal. Later, I asked why it was over 5,000 yuan when I had previously quoted 3,580 yuan. He immediately became impatient, saying I had an advisor and was calling him again. I felt that since I was calling the number on their company website, and anyone on their page represented New Start Law Firm, it didn't matter who answered. Besides, things weren't finalized during the first consultation. I didn't ask the person who answered the phone for their name, so I said I didn't know. He kept asking me why, his tone very forceful and arrogant, asking who the person on the phone was and how old they were. I said they looked like a man in his thirties or forties. At that point, he asked me to add him on WeChat and then hung up. He made me feel like he had absolutely no patience, so I didn't want to contact him again. Although he quoted me over five thousand, which I felt was similar to other law firms, I still trusted them and wanted to sign a contract with them. So I called again and asked to speak with someone else. A woman answered, because they knew my background. So I asked about the price directly, but it was even more outrageous! They quoted over 8,000, and there were even secondary charges. I consulted all the lawyers, whether law firms or private lawyers, and they all only charged a one-time fee until my 801 visa was issued. Only this firm charged twice. Their pricing was completely opaque; they charged whatever they wanted, charging exorbitant prices. The first time it was over 3,000, the second over 5,000, and the third over 8,000. I thought it was a very professional law firm, but it turned out to be a huge scam. Everyone, please be careful when choosing a law firm or private lawyer to avoid falling into this trap.
