Friday afternoon, we just received two refusal emails from the Australian Home Office for my parent’s visitor visas to Australia. Now, Saturday morning my wife and I haven’t had much sleep - it’s a horrible result for us as hopes were high and the airline tickets were bought. So I decide to look up Google and try to solve the situation calling a few “supposedly” 24/7 migration companies and lawyers, but only one answers - with a receptionist saying that I need to pay $465 for a 1-hour consultation with one of the lawyers there. I decline and start to lose hope. But then, I get a call 1-minute later from one of the previous numbers that I called. “Hi this is Andreas, sorry I missed your call - how can I help?” I then proceed to tell him about the small nightmare in a 40-minute long phonecall. As I talk, he patiently waits, asks questions, and takes notes. Then he tells me everything that I need to do in order to start solving it. He provides lots of useful information that I then relay to my wife whose face changes from unhappiness and despair to beaming a happy smile again. Amazing! I then ask to pay for the advice given by this friendly immigration advisor, not once, but three times - he refuses every single time, simply saying “I don’t need any money for this call, you also don’t need to engage my services going forward because it’s a problem you can fix by yourself - so please don’t pay me anything. I’m happy to help you and your wife - I’m sorry this happened to you”. And that’s my story, I’ve just gotten off the phone with this nice man and the only good thing that I can do to say thank you is to give a 5-star review. I wish I could give Olympus Migration 1000-stars! But it’s not possible. Andreas, thanks for caring about this New Zealander and his foreign family.
