2 years ago, I visited Vinnies Wynnum and experienced one of the most disturbing and inappropriate interactions I’ve ever had in a store. The man working as ‘security’ at the time — who appeared to be in his 50s — approached me, looked me up and down, and said, ‘You look incredible.’ I was 17. This was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and predatory behaviour toward a minor. It left me feeling unsafe and shaken in what should be a safe, community-focused environment. Vinnies must take incidents like this seriously, ensure proper staff training, and implement safeguards so nobody, especially young girls are never subjected to this kind of behaviour in their stores.

For the past 20 years I have visited St Vincent De Pauls in Maroochydore 4558. For their beautifully Crisis Delight well Manage and Organisations to help the sick disadvantages special needs helpless people who can't help them self or survive through the Week. To they are to help anyone and Everyone no matter their age Gender sexuality bare skin or Inked skin, or their size hight or weight, or their mental or physical or financial impaired. And to help families struggling and misfortunes. The 12 Times I went to St Vincent De Pauls in Maroochydore in the past 20 years was bcz I was Homelessness going through homelessness. No food . No fuel. No shelter. Today their offering was a bag Of Sausages margarine pear cups Wheat bread Frozen not cooked ifys meal tin of chunky steak cht Milk a box of wheatbix. That's it. Today is Friday I don't get paid until Tuesday. I took the bag back and told them I live in the car not a house thank you for your client gesture but does not suit my needs or my living arrangements. And that I can't afford to cook meals for six hours in the afternoon from 6 to 11pm. And I do not eat any of these foods. And their response was they laughed at me. A poorly design company that's specialises in favoritism Genders. And cheap handouts. And clothe their own backs and wouldn't take a shirt off for anyone the cover someone else's back. I wanted to write and say the biggest thank you to this wonderful organisation. They have an immigration advice service which allowed me to talk to an immigration lawyer. The lawyer, I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. I now know what paperwork I need to organise and feel more confident in taking the next steps. I can’t thank st. Vincent de Paul, enough for providing this service. It is truly helpful and life changing.

I am extremely disappointed & upset with SVDP. I was living in a unit complex run by Vinnies in Nambour & I was severely bullied by 3 residents & the very lazy on-site Manager. I had to leave to literally save my life & I have been homeless for 6 months. I definitely don't drink or smoke or do drugs but I still get treated like dirt. I used to think Vinnies were a caring organisation but I don't think so anymore. 😢😢😢😢

Be aware that St Vinnies are not interested in furniture that is even slightly scratched. My guess is that they onsell it to other furniture stores. We booked a pickup and the guy just said "Nah its damaged" got back in his truck and drove off. Did not even take the clothes or kitchen items for donation. We had to put it all in landfill because we were moving out. Pointless exercise.

At lunch time today, I was served by two really lovely ladies, I unfortunately did not get their names. But I think they will remember me as I bought the china tea set, that they kindly boxed for me. St Vincent de Paul helped me out tremendously with essential things I required for my new place as I had nothing. I was super impressed with the two people that came to my house to offer assistance. I thank God above for people like them. I felt so blessed when the furniture arrived as it was all good quality. Vinnies rock.

Have been to a couple if Vinnies shops today and I am very surprised at some of the price tags on many items. I saw a dress priced at 150$. Wow that is way out of my budget. The spirit of op shops is lost and now seems big business. These prices are discouraging people on low incomes . So sad to see.
