Hello. I'm a student studying in Australia. I successfully graduated from university in June of this year and applied for a graduate visa with my Australian brother. A month later, I received my 485 visa. My previous restaurant experience was recognized, and I learned from my Australian brother that I could proceed directly to the final stage of the chef skills assessment. We're currently working together on the 485 visa, skills assessment, and EOI. After going to Korea once in 2018 before COVID, I will be going to Korea for a two-week vacation for the first time in five years in 2023. I had a great time, met my parents, repaid their gratitude, and ate well at home. While I was resting at home, with my departure date approaching in three days, I was checking my email when I received an email from Korean Air. I opened it and it said that I needed to fill out something on the ETA app to enter Australia (ignorantly... I guess I had to do everything). I thought to myself, wrote down all the details, and even applied... No... It turned out that this was about getting a visa (a tourist visa). So my 485 visa status was changed to a tourist visa. My heart was pounding so I immediately contacted the Australian brother team and asked for help again. They answered right away and guided me to check my visa status myself, so I checked with my own eyes and saw that my 485 visa was still valid. Yes, I got scolded. I recklessly handled my visa without much knowledge, so... Everyone, please don't end up in the same situation as me. If you need to do something about your visa, please contact us first.
