The team at Skylark were there to help every step of the way - they helped us know exactly what evidence and information we'd need for my husband's 820 Partner visa (temporary). My overall experience with Skylark can be summed up as professional and prompt, but marred by some critical errors that resulted in delays and stress throughout the application process. While I had high hopes for their services, I can only give them a 2-star rating due to the various setbacks I encountered. I conducted thorough market research before choosing Skylark. They stood out with their promise of a 100% guarantee, which was a significant selling point for me. However, I couldn't ignore the fact that their fees were considerably higher (around $6,000) compared to other migration services that quoted between $2,500 and $3,500. Despite the cost disparity, I was willing to invest more for the peace of mind they claimed to offer. Our journey began in late December, and the initial stage of the application, the skill assessment, went smoothly without any hiccups. I took the initiative to inquire about the English language requirements early in the process, and at that time, Skylark assured me that I didn't need to retake the English exam. After receiving the skill assessment results, we proceeded to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) and received the invitation to apply on 1 April. However, around mid April, Mancy informed me that the residency calculation on my EOI was incorrect, leading to a resubmission and a delay of a few weeks. Towards late April, my EOI application was deemed unsuccessful, which was concerning because, to my knowledge, you couldn't repeatedly lodge applications. Fortunately, the ACT government allowed a resubmission once I met my English requirements. By this time, it was late April, and I urgently needed my application approved by the end of the financial year to avoid the matrix change. This unexpected English exam requirement added significant stress to my already busy life, given my full-time job and ongoing studies. Choosing the PTE test for its quicker results, I regrettably failed my first attempt due to insufficient preparation and an unfamiliarity with the computer-based assessment. It took me a few more weeks of preparation to pass the exam successfully. Finally, in early June, I passed the English exam, and we had to restart the EOI and application process. However, the agent (Mancy) handling my application had already left Skylark at this point. By the time we submitted the final application, it was already early August, and I received my visa in April the following year. Despite the apologies and follow-ups from Skylark's team, the level of service I received fell far short of my expectations, especially given the premium I paid. I had hoped for a seamless, error-free process, and it was disheartening to face the unnecessary delays and stress caused by mistakes on my application. I believe Skylark could greatly benefit from implementing more rigorous quality controls to provide a smoother, more reliable experience for their clients. My application was needlessly delayed by a few months due to these avoidable errors.
My partner, Stefanie, and I had the pleasure of working with Skylark Migration for over a year. I met my partner online during covid and we had no clue on how to meet, that’s when we researched a few visas and looked at several agencies that we were quite unsure of until we encountered Skylark. Their team of lawyers and client liaisons were nothing but extremely professional and knowledgeable. Skylark was recommended to my Japanese partner Toshie by one of her friends. Although we never met anyone in person, communication via phone and email was very professional and responsive. If you are scrolling through reviews trying to find if this agent is right for you, most probably it is! Just 4 months ago, my partner and I (from Perth) were scratching our heads trying to find an agent who would help with the lodgement of the 820/801 partner visa for my partner. Almost everyone we contacted did not give enough information on what we should do or quoted too high without any assurances. To be honest, we were a bit skeptical of getting an agent from another state as we wanted someone close and someone who would be responsive. But we opened our minds and luckily found Skylark through google. My free preliminary discussion was overall 10/10 as all our queries were basically sorted during there and we felt all the information was handed out to us readily.
