I engaged Maison Chen Law Group for a VETASSESS eligibility assessment regarding my permanent residency pathway. Throughout the process, my case manager was professional, responsive and helpful, and I appreciated the time taken to answer a number of questions outside the original scope of engagement. The advice ultimately provided was clear and honest. However, I was disappointed with the overall process and outcome. I disclosed my previous visa history early in the initial questionnaire process, including prior visas, but the relevance of the nominated occupations on those visas was only fully reviewed after I had spent significant time gathering extensive supporting documentation and reference letters requested for the assessment. In my view, reviewing the previous visa occupations earlier in the process may have identified the eligibility issue upfront and could have saved substantial time, effort and cost. Unfortunately, after spending close to $2,000, I was ultimately advised that I was not yet eligible for the skills assessment and remained in effectively the same position as before engaging the firm. That said, I do appreciate the professionalism of the staff and the transparency of the advice provided once the assessment was completed.
