Incompetent Doesn’t Even Begin to Describe Tracy Chen and the Services of VSTAR Lawyers My recent property purchase attempt was derailed by serious errors and unprofessional handling from both Tracy Chen (Associate Director, VSTAR Lawyers) and the agent (Forge Investment) that hired them. The contract prepared by Tracy Chen / VSTAR Lawyers was riddled with errors before it even reached me: • Wrong purchase price (entered lower than my actual offer to the vendor). • Wrong buyer’s legal name. • Incorrect clause numbering. • “Lease” listed instead of “Vacant Possession,” contrary to the advertised listing. • Missing critical finance details (Government support). • Building and pest clauses unticked. These are not minor typos - they are fundamental legal and commercial mistakes that any competent solicitor should catch before issuing a contract. To make matters worse, the coordination between VSTAR Lawyers and Forge Investment was disorganised and unresponsive. My proposed amendments were sent to both parties and never replied to, yet my solicitor and I was advised "no changes are permitted" - completely false given the errors already in the contract. Instead of correcting the issues, I was told by Forge’s agent to get my own solicitor to draft the vendor’s contract - something that is absolutely the vendor’s solicitor’s responsibility. Because of these combined mistakes and delays, I lost the property and the opportunity to purchase under the Victorian HomeBuyer Fund, wasting both my time and my solicitor’s time and fees. If you value professionalism, diligence, and proper legal process in property transactions, I strongly recommend avoiding this office - particularly in combination with Forge Investment, led by Malcolm Lee. I am happy to provide full documentation to verify my experience and demonstrate that this review is entirely factual.
