TOO BAD... Your agents cost me the most crucial than 2 years and more of my time in Australia, Not very professional, my lawyer was change 4 times, nobody told me. They told me to wait till my visa is expired, charged me hundred of dollars for nothing. And now that my EOI and ROI expired and my current visa is about to end, they are telling me to go to my country to apply for visa from there. I engaged Maison Chen Law Group to assist with my skills assessment and unfortunately, as both a University of Melbourne student and staff member, my experience was disappointing overall. During my initial consultation with them, I was assured that my application would be submitted promptly after I reached the one-year employment mark — a critical milestone in my visa timeline, as I only have two years on a post-study visa. However, after signing, I was assigned a case manager who was not a lawyer, despite initially being told I would be assigned one. The case manager was extremely unresponsive, and it felt like they were overloaded with too many clients. I had to constantly call reception for basic updates, as emails and portal messages often went unanswered. My application was ultimately delayed by almost two months after I became eligible — with no proper explanation. They also requested unnecessary documentation, which pushed the process back even further. As a direct result of this delay, I missed the biggest Victorian nomination round of the financial year — by just one week. There are no more rounds left this financial year, which has significantly impacted my visa prospects. I was also not prepared for the VETASSESS officer’s phone interview, which is a crucial part of the assessment and can affect the outcome. Not being guided on what to expect caused a lot of unnecessary stress. To their credit, the firm did help me achieve a positive skills assessment, which I am grateful for. It wasn’t an easy occupation to get approved for, and I put in a huge amount of work myself to meet the requirements. In my view, Maison Chen Law charges premium fees, but the quality of service didn’t match the cost. Many of the staff appear overextended, and most case management seems to be handled remotely with little oversight. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm for time-sensitive migration matters.
